Charity begins within you.

Charity begins INSIDE you.

We have so many words associated with one thing “an act of selfless giving to another who requires it”

Words like BENEVOLENCE and ALTRUISM are also associated with charity. For me, it all begins within one’s own self because it is inside of you. Not something we do outside of ourselves.Yes, charity too. It begins with ME.

“Be the change you want to see in the world.” –Mahatma Gandhi

If we desire to change the world, then this change should begin with and inside of us. There is nothing that is not already present within. And so it is with charity. When we are kind, caring and generous to our own selves, we can then be that extended version of us for others too. And most importantly for society around us. Hence, it is when we can be truly charitable. Else, it is perhaps something more superficial.

Charity is being true to ourselves and as a contribution to society and the world at large.

Not as an act of superiority but as equals. Not because someone has wealth enough to give away. But, because someone has enough of a heart to share it. All of the good in the world, and in our communities, can be created through conscious acts of selfless and happy giving. That why it begins at home, and from inside of you.

“You may never know what results come of your action,
But if you do nothing there will be no result”
